History of the Latah County Library Foundation
Image of one of the Latah County Libraries
Created in 1993, the Latah County Library District Foundation helps to identify and obtain additional financial resources to supplement the tax-based budget of the Library District, which serves Latah County's population of approximately 35,000.
Revitalized in 2007, the Library Foundation is beginning a multi-pronged campaign to increase visibility, raise funds, and develop community partnerships to strengthen and support the Library District’s services. A board of directors withmembers representing all of the district library communities governs the Foundation. The LCLD Foundation is currently seeking to serve the District by coordinating grants on behalf of thelibraries. This will streamline the grant-writing process and provide a unique resource to Latah County communities seeking outside fundingfor special library programs and projects until the LCLD Foundation reaches its financial goals. The Foundation has already administered severalgrants for the district and will be working closely with the branches and a variety of funding sources in the future.
